‘So Close’ was painted on reflection of the recent border closures which have affected so many people. Bridges are a way of connecting people so the decision to paint the Goondiwindi MacIntyre Bridge (the border bridge) was a deliberate decision to highlight the separation of states. The colour palette, however, is an optimistic one and conveys my hope for the future.
